Reflections Community Trust is a charitable trust, based on community development principles of respect for diversity, valuing all contributions and fostering interdependence, collaboration and aims to provide a safe, non-threatening and educationally based environment.
The aim of the Trust is to serve the children and their families in our community by;-
· Providing early intervention through quality children’s programmes at a low cost to those families in hardship. · Teach practical life skills and provide challenges using services and organisation, along with skilled individuals. · To provide hope in the next generation, through caring for the children of our community.
The Trust also aims to restore hope in individuals and communities by providing people with spiritual, emotional and practical solutions to their needs and being a catalyst for social change. The Trust will carry outs its responsibilities by doing everything under the umbrellas of the Trust's mission, while striving for continuous improvements and acting with;
· Integrity – being transparent and responsible for our actions · Respect – valuing every person and providing equal opportunities · Providing a quality service · Engendering hope to individuals and communities · Empowering and encouraging others to achieve their full potential
The Trust's signature event is the iconic Waimakariri Light Party held annually on 31 October as a safe and positive alternative to Halloween. The Trust also manages the Community Christmas Lunch, held every year on Christmas Day.
